Startups – the pilot episode – is out and on the Internet.

The story:

Startups is a look at Edmonton’s premiere community centre business course and the newest class of budding entrepreneurs. Run by a cynical facilitator who’s heard every terrible business idea out there, the potential business owners will have to learn the basics before they can think about opening to customers and get the chance to pitch their big ideas to a panel of investors in the hopes of landing $10,000.

Our story:

Startups is our first scripted production. We’re still learning the ins and outs of the technical side too, but just about all of this episode is in focus and totally audible.

Please check out the episode at the Startups site: and let us know if you’d be interested in seeing more from us. (There’s also a free download for you.) We aren’t planning to finish shooting the series at this time, though we have written drafts of episodes 2, 3, and 4.

Over on our blog, we’ve got more information on how the production came together, and things we learned along the way. And you can follow all of the great cast and crew on Twitter.
